Nov. 24, 2016 Minnesota Vikings 13 @ Detriot Lions 16
Lions kicker Matt Prater hit two field goals in the final two minutes, tying the game and then ending it with no time on the clock, after Darius Slay returned an interception to the Vikings’ 20 with 30 seconds remaining.
Nov. 25, 1993 Miami Dolphins 16 @ Dallas Cowboys 14
On a snow-covered field at Texas Stadium, the Cowboys’ Jimmie Jones blocked Miami’s gamewinning field goal attempt with 15 seconds remaining. Dallas’ Leon Lett slid into the loose ball and Miami recovered at the Dallas one-yard line with three seconds left. Pete Stoyanovich ended the game with a 20-yard field goal.
Nov. 27, 1980 Chicago Bears 23 @ Detroit Lions 17 (OT)
Chicago’s Dave Williams returned the overtime kickoff for a touchdown, completing the Bears’ comeback from a 17-3 deficit.
Nov. 28, 1974 Washington Redskins 23 @ Dallas Cowboys 24
Trailing 16-3 in the third quarter, rookie quarterback Clint Longley replaced injured Hall of Famer Roger Staubach and threw a game-winning 50-yard touchdown to Drew Pearson with 28 seconds remaining.
Nov. 29, 1934 Chicago Bears 19 @ Detroit Lions 16
In the first NFL game broadcast nationally (on NBC radio), the Bears and Lions launched the tradition of annual Thanksgiving football in Detroit.
Nov. 25, 1920 Canton Bulldogs 0 @ Akron Pros 7
In the first professional football game played on Thanksgiving, Hall of Famer Fritz Pollard led Akron to victory over Hall of Famer Jim Thorpe and Canton. The game marked the start of pro football on Thanksgiving in America.
