Tesla allegedly failed to accurately record injuries at a plant in California. Whistleblowers from the Fremont plant described working conditions that prioritized production over safety risks. They added that certain injuries were improperly categorized. Former members of Tesla’s environment, health and safety team spoke with Reveal, and stated that design also trumped function in the factory. They alleged that CEO Elon Musk’s distaste for the color yellow, a common color utilized in factories to label areas of caution, played out in the design of the facility. Although Tesla denies the allegations, the former employees stated Musk wanted everything inside the factory to be shades of red and gray.
