Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson was forced to apologize this weekend after a video of two black men being arrested at a Philadelphia Starbucks went viral. This is not the first time Starbucks has faced backlash over its apparent targeting and exclusion of people of color and other marginalized groups. The Seattle based coffee chain has faced allegations of mistreatment dating back to 2001.The coffee chain said that it is working to make institutional changes to address these problems in the long term. Starbucks is holding a company-wide meeting this week to "share our learnings, discuss some immediate next steps and underscore our long-standing commitment to treating one another with respect and dignity."
