Here’s a look at what Day 2 of the draft might look like for the Pittsburgh Steelers:

Second-Round Picks by GM Kevin Colbert:

2011 – Marcus Gilbert, OT, Florida
2012 – Mike Adams, OL, Ohio State
2013 –  Le’Veon Bell, RB, Michigan State Pro Bowl (3)
2014 – Stephon Tuitt, DT, Notre Dame
2015 – Senquez Golden, DB, Mississippi
2016 – Sean Davis, S, Maryland
2017 – JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, USC

Quick Hits

  • In the first two rounds, 42 percent of the players come from the Big Ten, including 21 percent from Ohio State
  • Offensive selections have a slight edge, four to three

Round 2: 60th overall
Possible Selections: Jerome Baker, LB, Ohio State; Kizer White, S, West Virginia; Sony Michel, RB, Georgia

Pick Is In: Sony Michel 5’10 220: Baker being an Ohio State guy with a Big Ten background makes him seem like such a logical pick. In 2016, the Steelers used their first three picks on defensive players, which marked the only time with Colbert as GM the team used its first three picks on one side of the football (Round 1 Pick was CB Carlton Davis). That leaves Michel as the selection, with what many anticipate will be the slightly-nasty-coming months with franchise-tagged running back Le’Veon Bell.

Third-Round Picks by GM Kevin Colbert:

2011 – Curtis Brown, DB, Texas
2012 – Sean Spence, LB, Miami
2013 – Markus Wheaton, WR, Oregon State
2014 – Dri Archer, WR/RB, Kent State
2015 – Sammie Coates, WR, Auburn
2016 – Javon Hargrave, DT, South Carolina State
2017 – Cameron Sutton, DB, Tennessee State
2017 – James Conner, RB, Pittsburgh

Quick Hits:

  • Zero tight ends selected in top three rounds under Colbert’s tenure as GM
  • Linebackers and defensive backs (safety included) tied with five a piece over top three rounds

Round 3: 92nd overall
Possible Selections: Tegray Scales, ILB, Indiana; Tyrell Crosby, OT, Oregon; Austin Corbett, G, Nevada

Pick Is In: Tegray Scales | 6’1 232

Scales is a productive, athletic linebacker built in the mode of previous undersized linebackers like Sean Spence and Ryan Shazier. This is an area of need for Pittsburgh. Their current group of inside ‘backers consists of Jon Bostic, L.J. Forte, Keith Kelsey, Vince Williams, Matt Galambos, and Tyler Matakevich. If the team goes offensive line and Tyrell Crosby is there, it would be a great find. He was superb possibly one of the top players I saw in Mobile, Alabama at the Senior Bowl.
