We haven't heard much from James Comey since Donald Trump fired him almost a year ago.

It turns out he's been busy writing. He has a book coming out next month, which should be a doozy, and he'll be making up for that lost time by hitting the talk show circuit to promote the book.

Comey was Director of the FBI from 2013 until Trump relieved him of his duties on May 9 of last year. Previously, he was the Deputy Attorney General from 2003 until 2005 and the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York from 2002 until 2003.

We heard a lot from the 57-year-old in the time before he was fired. He factored heavily into the presidential election in 2016 as he was overseeing the investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails. Some believe he is responsible for her loss in the election, or at least that he factored into it.

After he was fired by Trump, Comey released a memo he had written following a meeting with the President in February. The memo stated Trump had asked him to stop the FBI from investigating Michael Flynn. Robert Mueller was then appointed as Special Counsel to oversee the possible collusion with Russia in the election.

Stephen Colbert announced this week that Comey will appear on The Last Show on April 17. It will be his first late-night TV appearance. He'll also be interviewed by George Stephanopoulos for an ABC news special that will air a few nights before. It has been reported that nothing will be off limits.

The same day as his appearance on Colbert's show, Comey's book, A Higher Loyalty, will hit the shelves. It will explain "what good, ethical leadership looks like and how it drives sound decisions," which sounds like it is most likely not a Pro-Trump book.

We have heard from him a few times since he was dismissed by Trump. He testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee last June and said he turned over his memos about his time with the President to Mueller's investigation. This has made some believe that Mueller could be looking into whether it was an obstruction of justice on Trump's part to fire him.
