On Wednesday, Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin inserted the political issue of immigration into the Winter Games when telling the story of Chloe Kim, the teen who was recently awarded the gold medal for the United States in the women's halfpipe. Durbin told the story about how Kim's father migrated to the US, worked very hard, and made sacrifices to up his daughter's skill and love in snowboarding. Durbin said that it was story about a man who "came to the United States determined to make a life and to bring a family forward."
