A recent report by CNN highlighted the recent success of Australia's women's rugby team which has pushed ahead not only as athletes but as a leader in pay parity. Last year, Raelene Castle became the first woman appointed as the head of any rugby organization when she took over as CEO of Rugby Australia. Shortly after taking over, Australia's male and female sevens athletes were granted pay parity on what has been called a "great day for women's sport." Castle told CNN's World Rugby, "Athletes are training just as hard as the men, delivering commercial outcomes like the men are and therefore you can start to have not only the rational conversation about equality but also the more emotive conversation about it. It's an enormous step forward for our women's sevens team and I absolutely believe it's the right one.""
