A man who was denied a marriage license by a county clerk will run against her in Kentucky.
David Ermold announced his candidacy as a Democrat running for the Rowan County Clerk's office.
He will oppose Kim Davis, who sparked a national controversy after the Supreme Court made a ruling to establish marriage equality nationwide.
While serving as the Rowan County Clerk, Davis refused to grant marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
She spent five days in jail for refusing a court order to issue the licenses.
