Lyft's chief strategy officer Raj Kapoor believes the battle for those in the lead in the autonomous vehicle business is far from over. During a Monday stage appearance, Kapoor stated, "There's going to be an opportunity for a lot of people in this ecosystem. But we're going to go through a gut-wrenching decade or so where everyone is jostling for a position." Kapoor also believes there's work to be done across every aspect of the industry, from insurance practices to government regulation. For instance, Kapoor says Driverless cars need maps with information down to the centimeter. While it seems like Uber and Alphabet's Waymo have taken the lead in autonomous vehicles, Kapoor may be right, and we’ll be seeing more competition soon.
