According to reports, the New York Giants fired their head coach, Ben McAdoo (mack-a-doo), along with GM Jerry Reese, on Monday. McAdoo was in the midst of his second season as head coach, but had only compiled a 13-15 record after being promoted from offensive coordinator. Reese on the other hand had been with the team since 2007, including two Super Bowl wins. After going 11-5 and making the playoffs in 2016, McAdoo has been unable to get his team in a rhythm this season. Problems like a leaky offensive line, key injuries and a shaky run game only exacerbated the Giants' problems. Some speculate the tipping point came last week when McAdoo decided to bench starting quarterback Eli Manning for backup Geno Smith. Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will reportedly serve as interim coach.
