It's clear Rush Limbaugh wants to be seen as far away from a terrorist as possible.

While Donald Trump wants to make them all be Muslim, after two recent shootings by white American men, the radio host still wants to keep his distance, believing the terrorists must be Democrats.

After last Sunday's church shooting in Texas, Limbaugh spoke about terrorists on his radio broadcast, telling his fans that not all terrorists are from foreign lands.

"Terrorists do not always just come from Uzbekistan," he said. "They don't just come from Afghanistan. They don't just come from al Qaeda. Sometimes terrorists come straight from the Democrat Party, straight from the American left."

His reasoning for this comes from Sen. Rand Paul's neighbor who assaulted him, the shooting in Texas, the truck attack in New York, and threats aimed at Environmental Protection Agency leader Scott Pruitt.

"Now, folks, is it any wonder that Republicans might be a little skittish?" he asked his fan base. "It is more than obvious that the left is encouraging their followers to be vile, aggressive, abusive, and dangerous. There's no question about it. The left is encouraging this kind of activity. They are promoting it. And they celebrate it."

Also picking up criticism is the "drive-by media" because of coverages of the protests in Baltimore and Ferguson, which he has decided are "public riots."

"We're told something along the variation of, we need to understand the rage. We need to understand why these people are doing what they're doing."

However, a joint project by the Investigative Fund and Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting examined the terrorist incidents in this country from 2008 through 2016.

The study spells out that "right-wing extremists were behind nearly twice as many incidents" as the incidents carried out by "Islamist domestic terrorism."

There were 63 incidents that involved those "motivated by a theocratic political ideology espoused by such groups as the Islamic State." In that time frame were the San Bernardino shooting and the Boston Marathon bombing.

Right-wing extremists, usually white supremacists, were responsible for 115 of the incidents, including Robert Dear who killed three people at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado.

Perhaps Limbaugh doesn't remember that or doesn't consider that terrorism.
