Here are this week’s NFL picks (check back on Sunday for any potential added games):

(This Week: 1-0; Last Week: 0-2-1; Season: 16-14-1):

1:00 – Pittsburgh Steelers @ Indianapolis Colts (CBS)

The Indianapolis Colts are coming off their third win of the season and they are 3-1 against the spread at home this season. Wide out T.Y. Hilton had five grabs for 175 yards and two touchdowns last week, his tenth career game with at least 150 yards, including his third this season. Throwing him the football is Jacoby Brissett, who is coming off the best game of his career (122.6 rating) with 308 yards and two touchdowns (no INTs) through the air. He’s one of six quarterbacks with over 1,900 passing yards and 125 yards rushing. Jack Doyle has caught 20 passes for 184 yards over the past two games and his 50 receptions is second among all tight ends.

Spread Pick: Steelers -10; Pick: Colts (Take the Points)

1:00 – Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears (FOX)

The Packers offense has dropped off significantly without Aaron Rodgers but they should be able to keep it close against the equally ineffective at quarterback Chicago Bears. The Packers should go to rookie running back Aaron Jones, who has 166 rushing yards in two career road games. Maybe get Ty Montgomery more touches out of the backfield? The Stanford man rushed for a career-high 162 yards with two scoring scampers the last time they played in Chicago. Outside linebacker Clay Matthews had a sack and a forced fumble in the last meeting, while safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix had 13 tackles and three INTs in the past two against the Bears. With 48 tackles in the past four games, linebacker Blake Martinez is among the more active defenders in the league to give him 73 on the season (4th in the NFL).

Spread Pick: Bears -6; Pick: Packers (Take the Points)

8:30 – Miami Dolphins @ Carolina Panthers (ESPN)

On Sunday Night Football, Miami’s Jay Cutler threw for 311 yards and three touchdowns (no INTs) on 34 of 42 passing (81 percent) to help keep the Dolphins in the game against Oakland. It helps when you have a legit go-to guy like Jarvis Landry, who is second in the NFL with 56 receptions. Landry has already set the record for most catches through four seasons (344) with eight games left in 2017. It’s not just Landry, as Julius Thomas had 84 receiving yards and a TD last week to give him 34 scores since 2013, third among all tight ends, while Devante Parker has a touchdown catch of at least 75 yards in two of the past three on the road. All the trends are pointing away from the Panthers who are 1-4 against the spread as a favorite, 1-3 at home, and 0-3 as a home favorite when it comes to covering the point spread, while the ‘Phins have covered two of three games as a road dog.

Spread Pick: Panthers -9; Pick: Dolphins (Take the Points)
