Employees hurt, fires set in attempted escape at North Carolina prison

There was an attempted escape on Thursday from the Pasquotank Correctional Institution in Elizabeth City North Carolina. Police rushed to the scene after reports that fires had been set in the prison’s sewing plant. Several employees were injured but the extent of those injuries and whether anyone has escaped is still unknown. The institution is a high security prison for men which can hold up to 900 inmates.
