According to members of the House Intelligence Committee Wednesday, political ads that ran on Facebook during the 2016 election bought by Russia will be shown to the public. The announcement came shortly after Congressional staffers met with Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg, who is helping with damage control after the social media company was criticized for not discovering the ads sooner. Representative Mike Conaway, the Republican leading the panel’s investigation, told reporters Wednesday that that Facebook is working on every solution it can to “help American voters” understand “what the propaganda is they may or may not be reading.”
