According to credit reporting agency Equifax on Tuesday, around 15.2 million client records in the UK were compromised following a huge cyber attack last month. Equifax went on to say that 14.5 million of the records breached did not contain information that put consumers in Britain at risk. Patricio Remon, Equifax’s president for Europe said Tuesday, "Let me take this opportunity to emphasize that protecting the data of our consumers and clients is always our top priority.” Overall, around 145.5 million people, mostly in the United States, had their personal information, including Social Security numbers stolen in the hack.
