On Sunday, Golden Boy Promotion's president Eric Gomez told RingTV.com that a fight between Puerto Rican legend Miguel Cotto and Sadam Ali had been verbally agreed to. Recently, Cotto has been rumored to be considering challenging heavy-hitting middleweight, David Lemieux, but according to RingTV's Mike Coppinger, Cotto decided following his August bout against Yoshihiro Kamegai that the middleweight division was no longer an option for the thirty-six year old future hall-of-famer. The matchup against Ali will take place one hundred and fifty four pounds, and will be Ali's first contest at the junior middleweight limit.
