On Wednesday, New York state's financial services regulator issued a subpoena to Equifax Inc, demanding the company provide information about a massive data breach the credit-reporting firm disclosed this month. A person familiar with the matter said on Wednesday that the subpoena was sent to Equifax on September 14th by New York’s Department of Financial Services. According to the person who declined to be named as the matter is not yet public, the subpoena seeks documents related to the hack which resulted in 143 million American's personal data being compromised. The subpoena also requires details on when Equifax learned of the breach as well as what actions were taken after it was discovered.
