RedState.com reports six patients at a Hollywood, Fla. nursing home have been found dead in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.

Investigators are baffled as to why nursing staff did not request help before the situation became so dire.

Emergency backup generators were available and a functioning hospital was a mere 60 feet away.

Emergency workers said temperatures inside the building approached 110 degrees.

Doctors say other patients admitted to the hospital are in such poor condition they aren’t expected to survive.
