It looks like Amazon's lowering of prices at Whole Foods has been a success. Foursquare provided data to Bloomberg that showed store traffic was up by 25% in the days following the lowered prices on select items. Avocadoes went form $2.50 to $1.50 each and Fresh Atlantic Salmon Fillets went down an entire $5 per pound. The large uptick in customer traffic is proof that Amazon knows what its customers want, but the question still remains if Whole Foods will be able to retain these new customers.
