Following a tense contest, it was announced that Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta has won re-election on Friday. The country's election commission declared that the 55-year-old had received enough votes to secure a second five-year term after 98% of polling stations reported he had a 54 - 45 lead. At least 400 international election monitors -- including ones from the U.S. and European Union, were deployed across Kenya to monitor voting and the tallying process. Former US secretary of State John Kerry, who served as an election observer, said Thursday this week that while there were "little aberrations," the election was not rigged.
