On Friday, sources have said that India's military has increased operational readiness along the eastern Indian border with China. Indian and Chinese troops have been involved in a seven-week confrontation on the Doklam plateau in Bhutan. The sources have said that military tensions were not expected to escalate, but a military alert level has been raised as a matter of caution. The altercation began when a Chinese construction crew was found to be trying to extend a road in the Doklam region.
