Oregon Raises Age For Tobacco Sales To 21

The state of Oregon is raising the minimum age for buying tobacco and electronic-cigarettes to 21, bringing regulations into line with the state's sales of marijuana products. On Wednesday, Governor Kate Brown signed the new law, which bans under-21s from purchasing tobacco products and vaping devices, takes effect on January 1st. The current age limit in the state is 18. Higher age limits already apply in the states of California, Hawaii, Maine, and New Jersey.
