New revelations from a past New Yorker interview with former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci reveal Vice President Mike Pence may be preparing himself for a 2020 presidential run, should Donald Trump leave office. In the interview, Scaramucci offered some cryptic thoughts about Pence, saying, 'Why do you think Nick's There? Nick’s there to protect the Vice-President because the Vice-President can’t believe what is going on.” The comment refers to Nick Ayers, Pence’s recently installed chief of staff. Over the weekend, The New York Times also reported, citing conversations with at least seventy-five Republicans, that Ayers, has said Pence “wants to be ready” to run for President in 2020.
