New York state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman intends to sue the federal government if lawmakers pass the proposed legislation to overhaul the Affordable Care Act. A group of Democrats led by Schneiderman and California Attorney General Xavier Becerra have sought to intervene in a pending lawsuit. They want defend subsidies paid to health insurers under Obamacare. Among the Republican proposals is one that would defund the Planned Parenthood health group for a year, and another that would shift some Medicaid costs in New York from counties to the state.
