How hot is too hot when a plane is sitting on the ground? Airline authorities have nothing to say--because there's no regulation about it.According to the Associated Press, pilots sometimes turn off the air conditioning at the gate or when the plane is taxiing, to save fuel. The Association of Flight Attendants has lobbied for years to set a maximum cabin temperature of 80 degrees. But union spokeswoman Taylor Garland said, 'Airlines and regulators do not consider temperature to be a safety issue.'
