According to reports, Lockheed Martin is in the final stages of negotiating a deal worth over $37 billion. In the deal, the corporation will sell 440 F-35 fighter jets to 11 nations including the United States. This would be the biggest deal to date for the F-35 jet. The pricing of the jets was still not final. However, anonymous sources said the average price of the jets was expected to be $85 million. The deal will consist of three tranches over fiscal years 2018-2020. The F-35 has been extensively criticized for being too expensive, including by Donald Trump and other U.S. officials.
