On Tuesday, New York's highest court has ruled to enforce a 2001 law to reduce the number of bookshops and video stores that offer sexual content. The unanimous decision by the state Court of Appeals reversed a lower court ruling to stop the increasing spread of "adult" establishments. Judge Eugene Fahey said that it was "a matter of law that the city met its burden of showing that the adult establishments continued to have a predominant focus on sexually explicit materials and activities."
