Charges Issued Against Times Square Driving Suspect

According to police, a motorist accused of steering his car into pedestrians around New York City's Times Square on Thursday afternoon, has been charged with murder and 20 counts of attempted murder. In a statement, the NYPD added that 26-year-old Richard Rojas was also charged with five counts of aggravated vehicular homicide. Rojas, a US Navy Veteran, was arrested Thursday afternoon after hit nearly two dozen people before steel security barriers finally stopped him around Times Square. Police add that Rojas attempted to flee the vehicle after crashing but was apprehended by authorities. The incident left one person dead and 22 injured.
