According to a report, back in January 217 incoming National Security Adviser Mike Flynn asked his counterpart, Susan Rice, not to do go through with a plan to arm the Syrian Kurds. According to news agency McClatchy, Flynn had blocked the plan to arm the Kurds because it was opposed by the Turkish government, which Flynn had been paid over $500,000 to represent. At the time, Flynn had not registered as a foreign agent or even disclosed that Turkey had paid him as a lobbyist. Following his ousting as NSA adviser with Donald Trump's administration, Flynn then registered as a foreign agent with the US Justice Department.
