According to an official Friday, White House chief usher Angella Reid, the first woman to serve in the position, has been let go. No official reason for Reid's departure has yet been given. Reid, who was previously the general manager at the Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City, made history when she took the job in 2011 with Barack Obama's administration. Reid, who was responsible for the management of the building and overseeing of the residence staff, was the White House's ninth overall Chief usher and second African-American to serve in the role.
