According to authorities on Thursday, Miami Marlins star pitcher Jose Fernandez was intoxicated while driving a boat in a fatal crash back in September 2016, which killed him and two friends. According to a report by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Division of Law Enforcement, the 24-year-old also had cocaine in his system when the boat crashed into a jetty going nearly 70 MPH. The report adds that Fernandez and his friends, Eduardo Rivero and Emilio Jesus Macias, purchased two bottles of Don Julio tequila and three other drinks at American Social Bar in Florida just before the crash.
