Philippine President Says Obama Can 'Go to Hell'

2016-10-05 02:01:351 Oct 2018 01:53 AM EST

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte threatened to "break up" with the United States and said President Barack Obama can "go to hell." Duterte's remarks come just before the US and Philippines start joint military exercises in Manila which will last until October 12. Duterte however added that the exercises between the two countries will be the last, adding on Tuesday, "I serve notice to you now that this will be the last joint military exercise with the United States." Durterte's verbal tirade against America heated up after widespread criticism of his anti-drug campaign, which as left thousands of suspected drug dealers and users dead.
