Pittsburgh, PA Game balls from Pittsburgh’s 43-14 win over Kansas City:

Offensive Game Ball Week 4: Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was terrific against the Chiefs on Sunday night and his performance was typical of what the fan base expects from their two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback. His 300-yard performance was the 39th of his career and his five touchdown throws marked the third time in his career he reached the milestone mark.

“We wanted to bounce back,” said Roethlisberger. “I told you guys a trillion times I’d rather ten interceptions and win, than touchdowns and lose it.”

Roethlisberger finished the game going 22-of-27 for 300 yards and five touchdowns. He kept the football out of the opposing team’s reached and acknowledged that the positive statistics are distant from his memory, but the interceptions “are the ones that I do know.”

He connected with nine different receivers and was one touchdown short of tying his career high of six which he has reached twice in his 13-year career.

“I knew it was coming to me,” tight end Xavier Grimble said after the game. “I rushed it a little bit because I knew I was going to be open and I jumped the gun.” Roethlisberger told Grimble after the play to be “patient” and it will come. “He knows I can win the majority of those balls but I know I got to learn to be patient.”

Defensive Game Ball Week 4: Watching him hustle every down and end up one second late on notching a sack appears to frustrate me more than it does Cam Heyward. All those almost chances came to fruition with his three-sack performance against Kansas City.

“We got pressure from everybody,” Heyward said, before he added, “I clean up the trash a lot. Guys were beating their man one-on-one. He (Alex Smith) was trying to step up and I just thought we disrupted their passing game.”

Heyward notched his first hat trick and joked, “It’s nice but I’m happy just to get off the field.”

The defense, following their dismal performance last week against the Eagles, stepped up in a major way on Sunday night and were rewarded with a big win. Heyward led the way and like always passes the praise on the entire defense.
