Black Workers Are Getting More Service Industry Jobs

The Brookings Institution released new data that reveals that between 2009 and 2014, black workers earnings have decreased significantly. The biggest decreases occurred in cities like Sacramento, Las Vegas, and Akron. When the researcher dug deeper to find out the cause, they discovered that in each of these cities the number of black workers in middle wage jobs decreased and the number of black workers in lower wage jobs increased.
