Tuesday’s commute is shaping up to be similar to Monday’s, with few surprise problems along the way—but a handful of planned detours and service changes.
As usual, until further notice due to damage from Hurricane Sandy, Manhattan’s South Ferry station remains closed, and no 1 Trains run between Rector Street and South Ferry. For access to South Ferry, riders can take the R to Whitehall Street or the 4 and 5 to Bowling Green.
A Trains also do not run between Howard Beach-JFK/Broad Channel and the Rockaways. Shuttle buses run nonstop between Howard Beach and Mott Avenue, where riders can then connect to the H Train, which runs between Mott Avenue and Beach 90th Street. H trains depart Mott Avenue from 4 a.m. to midnight every 15 minutes and depart Beach 90th Street from 4:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. every 15 minutes. The Q22 Bus will provide service between Beach 90th and Beach 116th Streets.
There may be delays on the Long Island Railroad’s Babylon Line, although the only update currently posted is of a delay from 10 a.m. reporting of equipment problems.
B35 Buses are detoured from Church Avenue between Flatbush and Rogers Avenues in both directions due to construction.
B103 Buses are running with delays due to construction on Flatbush Avenue between Cortelyou Road and Avenue H.
Bx28 and Bx30 Buses are bypassing the Gun Hill Road stop at Bronxwood Avenue due to construction.
Bx12, Bx12SBS and Bx22 Buses are being detoured from Fordham Road between Bronx River Parkway and Southern Boulevard due to road construction. The Bx12 and Bx22 stop at Southern Boulevard will be temporarily discontinued. Buses will stop at Belmont Avenue in both directions. The Bx12SBS stop at Southern Boulevard will also be temporarily discontinued. Buses will stop at Crotona Avenue in both directions. The Bx12 and Bx12SBS routes are also affected due to construction at Bay Plaza as well as along Pelham Parkway East between Bronx Park East and Stillwell Avenue.
M14D Buses are detoured due to road work on Avenue C and East 10th Street.
M22 Buses are detoured due to the Chambers Street Reconstruction Project, from Chambers Street between North End Avenue and Broadway. M20 buses are also bypassing the Chambers Street stop
at West Broadway, and M22 buses bypass stops on Chambers Street at Church Street and West Broadway.
M21 Buses are detoured due to a water main trunk replacement, from Houston Street at Avenue A.
M5 and M20 Bus stops on State Street on the far side of Whitehall and Water Streets and near the side of Broad Street are temporarily closed. M20 Buses are also being detoured from West Broadway at Chambers Street.
M15 Bus stop son State Street on the far side of Whitehall and Water Streets are temporarily closed.
M11 Buses are delayed due to construction on Columbus Avenue between W 64th Street and W 63rd Street.
Q52 and Q53 Buses are delayed due to construction in the southbound lane in Broad Channel on Crossbay Boulevard.
Finally, the northbound 3rd Avenue exit on the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge is still closed until further notice due to long term construction.
