Mayor Bloomberg, in a press conference on Tuesday morning, announced that New York City's public schools will be closed for a third consecutive day on Wednesday, October 31.
Subway systems are likely not going to be restored by Wednesday, although the mayor did state that he expects buses to be restored by tomorrow and roads to be cleared. Seven subway lines in the East River are flooded.
