Wednesday afternoon may be bringing us some nicer weather, but be on the lookout for some issues with your commute home.
Most subway trains are running normally this afternoon, though N and Q trains are delayed due to an earlier incident. Also, switch problems at 179th St. are causing Stillwell-bound F trains to run express between 179th St. and Parsons Blvd.
The Long Island Railroad is facing a bit of an obstacle. The derailment of a non-passenger train in Long Island City is forcing Hunterspoint Ave. and Long Island City customers to take trains from Penn Station. NYC Transit is also cross-honoring fares for customers who take the 7 train to Woodside, where LIRR service is also available. This derailment is also causing delays on the Montauk line and service changes on the Oyster Bay, Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma lines.
Most Metro-North Railroad trains are running normally, but as usual, buses are still substituting for trains on the Port Jervis line between Port Jervis and Harriman between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. until November 9.
Buses are facing multiple delays and detours, as usual.
M15, M15SB, M31, M57, M66, M72, M101, M102, M103 and Q32 buses are all detoured due to the closure of the upper level of the Queensboro Bridge, causing heavy traffic in the vicinity of the bridge. M96 buses are facing a temporary stop change due to construction, and M9 and M50 buses are also detoured due to construction. M50 buses will especially be delayed due to road work on 9th Ave. occupying 1 ½ lanes on 50th St. M20 and M22 buses are detoured and facing stop changes due to the Chambers Street Reconstruction Project. Finally, M11 buses are also delayed due to construction on Columbus Ave. between W 64th St. and W 63rd St.
B35 buses are detoured due to construction on Church Ave. between Flatbush and Rogers Ave. Bx15 and Bx55 buses are detoured due to milling on 3rd Ave. between 174th St. and 172nd St. Bx12SBS, Bx29 and Bx38 buses are detoured due to construction.
Q101 buses are running with delays due to an overturned coffee truck on the eastbound upper level of the 59th St. Bridge, which is causing heavy traffic in the vicinity.
Finally, all other bridges and tunnels are running regularly throughout the city.
