With today being Columbus Day, it is important for New Yorkers to know what is and isn’t closed as a result of the federal holiday.
All post offices and other government buildings will be closed, but drop off services will remain available for packages and mail.
All city offices, such as the mayor’s office, sanitation department, etc., are also closed. This also means that there is no garbage or recycling pickup, and street cleaning is also cancelled.
The lack of street cleaning means that Alternate Side Parking is suspended, but other parking regulations such as meters are still in effect.
