NASA's latest private contract has been awarded.
Syncom Space Service LLC out of Fort Worth Texas will provide consolidated facility operations and maintenance services for the space administration.
Named the Synergy-Achieving Consolidated Operations and Maintenance contract, NASA has prepared a one-year performance-based contract with seven option periods.
Should Syncom fulfill their end of the bargain, the contract will last nine years and five months with a potential value of $1.2 billion.
The contractor is expected to operate and maintain institutional and technical facilities where the administration conducts test and assembles projects.
The two facilities named by NASA which Syncom will work at are the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi and the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans.
