Popular internet browser Google Chrome is causing crashes on many Apple MacBooks, users have complained.
Meanwhile, Google is aware of the problem and is working to resolve it.
“We have identified a leak of graphics resources in the Chrome browser related to the drawing of plugins on Mac OS X. Work is proceeding to find and fix the root cause of the leak,” Google said in a statement. “While the root cause of the leak is being fixed, we are temporarily disabling some of Chrome’s...features.”
The crash occurs mainly when MacBook users try to close tabs or manage windows in the Google Chrome browser. While Google does acknowledge the problem, they also suggest the root of the problem lies with Apple.
“We anticipate further fixes in the coming days which will re-enable many or all of these features on this hardware,” they added.
Google has recommended Mac owners use alternate browsers until the problem is fixed.
Google also announced Friday that Chrome will be now available on iPhones and iPads. The app will be available in the app store by Friday afternoon.
