Two Seriously Injured by Falling Debris in Midtown 

Two workers were seriously injured by debris that fell from the top of the M&Ms World building in Times Square Wednesday morning, 12 stories from street level. The FDNY says they were notified of the event at 8:44am when a long metal frame broke off the sign and hit the two workers from a tourist bus company. They were rushed to Bellevue hospital. 


MTA Installing Surveillance Cameras in Subway Cars  

In order to keep passengers safe from sexual harassment, the MTA has announced that they will be installing hundreds of surveillance cameras in subway cars across the system; in the light of an increase in reported incidents, enhanced security, including subway car cameras, will be implemented. In addition, the MTA is increasing training for MTA personnel and a revised subway map that includes locations of NYPD stations. 


Queens Zoo Robbed at Gunpoint 

Over the weekend, two suspects walked into the employee area of the Queens Zoo and robbed the workers at gunpoint; it was not clear how many employees were present. They took $48,000 in cash and fled, according to police. It also wasn’t known if anyone was hurt in the incident, which happened at 4:20pm on Sunday.
