NY Writer Who Accused Trump of Raping Her Wants to Get a Sample of His DNA

There hasn't been much said about the allegations against Donald Trump regarding sexual assault since the big glut of them in 2016, just before he was elected. There have been a few lawsuits here and there, but they haven't really gone anywhere. That's what will be interesting — whether New York-based writer E. Jean Carroll will find success with her accusation that Trump raped her, by asking for a sample of his DNA.

Carroll accused Trump of raping her in the 1990s but didn't do so when all the others accused him a month before he was elected president. She came forward because of the huge glut of the movement admissions.

Carroll sent q request on Thursday that the president submit a DNA sample to see whether his genetics match what is on a black coat dress she claims to have been wearing when he assaulted her.

The writer's attorneys served a notice to a Trump attorney this week asking that the president provide a DNA sample for "analysis and comparison against unidentified male DNA present on the dress," according to the Associated Press. He has been asked to provide the DNA sample by March 2.

"The dress has been tested. We have the results. My attorney @kaplanrobbie has served notice to @realDonaldTrump's attorney to submit a sample of Trump's DNA," Carroll tweeted.

As a longtime advice columnist, Carroll described an alleged assault for the first time last June in a memoir excerpt that was published in New York magazine. She retold her story in an interview with The Washington Post, claiming that Trump attacked her in late 1995 or early 1996 inside a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room. She alleges he knocked her head against a wall, pulled down her tights, and penetrated her briefly before she pushed him away and ran off.

To prove this isn't something she has come to on a lark, Carroll says she told two close friends about what happened with Trump and kept the coat dress she was wearing during the alleged assault.

Trump has denied her accusation, calling it fake news. He claims he "never met this person in my life" and that she  was "not my type." He says she made up the story to promote her book.

The request for DNA is only the most recent event. She sued him for defamation in New York state court last November with the argument that he smeared her and damaged her career by claiming she is a liar.

"After Trump sexually assaulted me, I took the black dress I had been wearing and hung it in my closet. I only wore it once since then, and that was at the photoshoot for the New York Magazine article about my book," Carroll said in a Thursday statement.

"Unidentified male DNA on the dress could prove that Donald Trump not only knows who I am but also that he violently assaulted me in a dressing room at Bergdorf Goodman and then defamed me by lying about it and impugning my character."
