Pantone's Color of the Year for 2020 Is Classic Blue

Pantone has announced the color of the year for 2020. According to Allure, the color of choice is Classic Blue. The shade is also known as 19-4052 in graphic design circles. According to a press release from Pantone, the color symbolizes "protection, stability, peace, and confidence". Pantone went on to say that the deep hue also encourages "deep thinking, open mindfulness, and communication." The hue was announced on Wednesday, December 4 and is one of several blue Pantone Colors of the Year. The first-ever Color of the Year in 2000 was Cerulean blue.
