Study: College Students Can Lower Blood Pressure Through This Delightful Activity

2019-11-21 04:00:14

College students often find themselves burning the candle at both ends. Late-night study sessions, early morning classes, and part-time jobs all contribute to sleep deprivation. Insufficient sleep can lead to a range of issues in college students, including impaired mood and cognitive performance. But Penn State researchers say busy students may benefit from just one extra hour of sleep per night. When asked to extend their sleep, college students were able to get an additional 43 minutes of sleep per night on average. It's unsurprising that with that additional rest, they experienced less sleepiness during the day. But according to UPI, they were also able to lower their blood pressure by an average of seven points!
