CDC Still Baffled By Spate Of E-Cigarette Related Deaths

2019-09-11 17:18:001 Oct 2018 01:53 AM EST

The CDC is investigating at least 450 possible cases of vape-related illnesses in 33 states across the US. Business Insider reports the mysterious illnesses have claimed at least six lives already. The Trump administration announced Wednesday it will push for a ban on all flavored e-cigarettes. It's unclear what exactly is causing these illnesses. But it seems to affect younger men who are vaporizing cannabinoids like THC. The culprit might be chemicals like vitamin-E acetate that are used to emulsify THC and CBD in illegal, unregulated vaporizers.
