Drinking sugar — whether in 100% fruit juice, soda, or sweetened coffee and tea — may increase cancer risk. A long-term study of more than 100,000 people found a link between drinking more sugar and higher cancer rates. According to Business Insider, the study controlled for other factors like exercise, family medical history, smoking status, age, and education level. The results regarding fruit juices may be surprising because fruit juices have a healthy image. Lead study author Mathilde Touvier The new study aligns with a growing body of evidence that drinking sugar isn't at all good for human health.
