According to a report by Reuters, on Tuesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani rejected talks with the United States after President Donald Trump said that Iran would seek negotiations 'if and when they are ever ready.' Rhetoric between Tehran and Washington has been on the rise in recent weeks, as the US tightened sanctions to push Iran into making concessions beyond the terms of the 2015 nuclear deal. One year ago, Trump withdrew the US from the deal with Iran, under which Tehran curbed its uranium enrichment capacity in return for sanctions relief. Iran has reportedly rejected the possibility of any further negotiations as long as the United States remains outside the nuclear deal.
