Business Insider reports the Centers for Disease Control said Friday that ground beef is responsible for the current E. coli outbreak that has sickened at least 109 people. The CDC has not yet named one brand or specific supplier of tainted meat yet, and the investigation is ongoing. People sickened in the outbreak have reported eating ground beef both at home and in restaurants. The strain of E. coli has been reported to have made people ill in six states: Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, and Kentucky. At least 17 people have been hospitalized.
