According to a report by Reuters, on Friday, the White House said that the United States and China made progress toward a trade agreement during "constructive discussions" this week in Beijing. The White House reportedly said in a statement, "The two parties continued to make progress during candid and constructive discussions on the negotiations and important next steps." The statement reportedly echoed comments made earlier by US Treasury Secretary Steven Mcuchin.
