According to a report by Reuters, on Tuesday, the European Commission announced plans to keep the rail link between the EU and Britain through the Channel Tunnel open on current terms for three months after a no-deal Brexit in an effort to minimize disruption expected from an abrupt split. Reuters reports that the UK is on track to drop out of the EU on March 29th without a deal unless Prime Minister Theresa May can convince the bloc to amend the divorce deal she agreed to last year and convince British lawmakers to approve it. The reported proposal by the European Union's executive arm would reportedly extend safety authorizations for the Channel Tunnel rail link, provided that the UK agrees to also maintain identical safety standards.
